As I’m signing holiday cards this morning with endearing thoughts and wishes for those individuals (and their families) who have reciprocated their attention and prayers towards myself in time of need, always fills me with a sense of gratitude. For it is our close ties with these friends of ours that for no matter what, they can kick it anytime, just because!

This time of year I can easily reflect on those who have stood by my side through the good, bad, and uglies – it feels good to know that there are people who you can count on to not judge you and in retrospect, take risks and share things most intimate about their life as well.
Although we should share an intimate relationship with our spouse, building relationships outside of marriage embraces a different kind of longing. There are just some things that aren’t meant to be shared with our significant other. For me, “chick-talk” releases anxieties and other emotions that I know my girlfriends would understand. Whereas my husband might question, worry, or totally be irritated with. And besides, it’s fun to have women that you can relate to and exchange life secrets with.
