Jesus posed a paradox to his disciples: “Lose your life to find it.” I may not have achieved anything on my wish list, but in losing my wants, I found what I needed: a life filled with trips to teacher conferences, ICU, court hearings, and other meetings that a mom fears. It wasn’t a glamorous life by any means, but it’s the life God custom-designed just for me~
“Mothers are the center of any family. They are the gravity around which everything else revolves.” ~Tammy Lamoureux
Been here, heard most of it…waiting for #50!
“The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness.” –Honoré de Balzac
For moms who dream of escaping to someplace “glorious”….
You know the feeling. One day you’re patting your bulging tummy, dreaming up names for your little Future President….and the next thing you know, you find yourself rooting for Ernie from Sesame Street to win the People’s Choice Award for Best Actor or hearing “innocent” questions like: “Uh, Mom, how do you put out a fire?”
That’s when the dream hits. The dream of running away for a day…not to the circus (because you already live in one), but to a place where clean, folded laundry does not return itself to the dirty clothes hamper and where rained-out camping trips are not your fault.
You love your family, yet–occasionally, you wonder what would happen if you went temporarily, AWOL….
Oh, the stories we – MOMS – could tell! My children, kept me on my toes and running to and fro – God only knows!! However, I’d do it all again and again.
“Mothers and their children are in a category all their own. There’s no bond so strong in the entire world. No love so instantaneous and forgiving.” ❤
–Gail Tsukiyama
